Mobile Health Units

Overview

The Colorado Department of Human Services, Office of Behavioral Health (OBH) with $6.7 million from the State Opioid Response grant, is providing six mobile health units specializing in medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to improve access to MAT in rural and underserved areas of Colorado.

What health services are offered?

  • Access to a doctor that can prescribe medication for an opioid use disorder
  • Naloxone distribution
  • Referral to wraparound services
  • Flu shots (some units)
  • Syringe disposal (some units)

Who is on board?

  • Nurse (LPN or RN)
  • Licensed addiction counselor
  • Peer recovery coach
