Thursday, January 7, 2021

DENVER — Today, Lt. Governor Dianne Primavera received her first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora, Colorado. She was joined by Dr. Jean Kutner, Chief Medical Officer & Geriatrician for UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital.

“I have made it my life’s work to overcome adversity -- no matter how seemingly insurmountable, and help others do the same. As the Lt. Governor, the Director of the Office of Saving People Money, a mother, and a grandmother, my greatest hope for receiving the COVID-19 vaccine today is to encourage my fellow Coloradans over 70 to do the same as soon as they are able,” said Lt. Governor Primavera. “In this moment, let’s remember where we have come from in the last 10 months, the fortitude we have shown, and use this to motivate us toward a future when grandparents can once again freely and safely embrace their grandchildren.”

The State of Colorado is encouraging all Coloradans who are 70+ to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Coloradans in this age group account for 78% of COVID-19 related deaths in the state.
