Governor Polis to Adventure to Candlekeep, Fight Monsters, Solve Puzzles

The Governor’s dusted off old high-level Mage is not yet backwards compatible in D&D 5.0, but he hopes to roll a few d20s and maybe play an erstwhile NPC for a hot moment

GLENWOOD SPRINGS - Today, Governor Polis will be attending Dungeons and Dragons Adventures in Candlekeep, which occurs every third Saturday at 2:00 pm at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library, 815 Cooper Ave in Glenwood Springs. 

August 19-21 is Tabletop appreciation weekend where tabletop gamers come together worldwide in support of Children’ Miracle Network Hospitals.

“I look forward to going forth with my party to fight monsters and solve mysteries at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library. The Glenwood Springs Branch Library, part of Garfield County Libraries, serves residents of Garfield County with fun activities and programming including Colorado Mountain College meeting space,” said Gov. Polis. “Across Colorado, our public libraries play a critical role in bringing people together and encouraging literacy, education, community, and successful saving throws. ” 

Governor Polis will be meeting up with fellow adventurers who are willing and able to make the perilous journey to Fistandia’s Mansion and solve the mysteries within around 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 20th. The governor, a suspected high-level Yuan-ti cleric, notes that times have changed since THAC0 and grappling charts dominated gaming tables and basements when he last formally adventured, but says he is always excited to take on new adventures to serve Coloradans and Sword Coast denizens alike. On why he has chosen a library to meet his party, instead of a tavern as is typical, the governor points out that the adventure is mostly puzzles, and that he has a day job as a level 20 Bard in the College of Eloquence.

Colorado’s 56 library districts and municipalities, run over 272 public libraries across Colorado, and there are hundreds more school libraries.
