Governor Polis Announces Staff Updates

 

DENVER - Today, Governor Jared Polis announced updates to the Governor’s office staff.  The Polis-Primavera administration’s legislative team has been instrumental in shepherding key legislation to help save people money, improve access to quality health care, provide quality education to Colorado’s kids regardless of zip code, and take bold climate action and today the governor’s office announced updates on its legislative team. 

 

  • David Oppenheim, who served as Legislative Director for the Governor since 2019 will now serve as Director of Operations and Cabinet Affairs for the Polis-Primavera administration. Oppenheim has helped guide the Polis-Primavera administration's landmark legislative plans since day one and new laws that are helping save people money and more.
  • Allie Kimmel will now serve as Legislative Director, she previously served as Deputy Legislative Director. Prior to serving on the Governor's office staff since 2019, Kimmel worked on education policy in both the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate and has been instrumental in landmark laws to provide free full-day kindergarten and now universal preschool for Colorado’s kids and hardworking families. 
  • Eleni Angelides, who was a legislative advisor in the Governor's office, will now serve as Deputy Legislative Director. Angelides has worked on the Governor’s legislative teams 2019 and previously worked in the U.S. House of Representatives. Angelides helped to lead the Governor’s transformational work using federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Funds on housing, behavioral health, and economic recovery.
