Gov. Polis Announces Executive Clemency Advisory Board
DENVER - Gov. Jared Polis announced today that he is recreating and reorganizing the Governor’s Executive Clemency Advisory Board. This Board will review clemency applications and provide recommendations to the Governor for commutations and pardons.
“Clemency is a heavy responsibility. While it is no substitute for reforming the criminal justice system, it is a power that can help transform an individual’s life and I do not take it lightly. That is why I have chosen this group of Coloradans with unique backgrounds who understand the role of the criminal justice system, and are able to determine when an individual is ready to move beyond his or her criminal history,” said Governor Polis.
