Governor Polis Appoints Lisa M. Gomez to the Denver Juvenile Court

DENVER - Today, Governor Polis appointed Lisa M. Gomez to the Denver Juvenile Court in the Second Judicial District. This vacancy was created by the retirement of the Honorable D. Brett Woods and is effective immediately. 


Ms. Gomez is a Magistrate in Denver Juvenile Court, a position she has held since 2015. Her docket consists of juvenile matters. Previously, she was a Guardian Ad Litem at the Office of The Child’s Representative (2005-2015); Respondent Parent Counsel and Guardian Ad Litem at the State Court Administrator’s Office (2008-2015); Truancy Defense Counsel at the State Court Administrator’s Office (2011-2015); Contempt Defense Counsel at the State Court Administrator’s Office (2010-2015); and Solo Practitioner at the Law Office of Lisa Gomez (2005-2015). Ms. Gomez earned her B.S. from Metropolitan State College of Denver in 1997 and her J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2003.
