Friday, June 7, 2024

DENVER - Today, after a legislative session where the Governor and legislators delivered on promises made to Coloradans, Governor Polis concluded the 2024 bill signing tour.

“This legislative session and bill signing tour delivered major wins for the people of Colorado. We are building more housing now, saving Coloradans money on property taxes, cutting the income and sales tax, moving closer to the reality of passenger rail in Colorado, making historic investments in educational opportunity including fully funding our schools - and so much more. Over the last 30 days I’ve signed bills across our great state to formalize these accomplishments that protect and improve the Colorado way of life,” said Governor Jared Polis.

This year, in partnership with the legislature, Governor Polis signed a responsible, balanced budget that will set Colorado up for success, including fully funding Colorado schools. The Governor signed historic legislation to create more housing that Coloradans can afford near jobs and in the communities where people want to live, invest in passenger rail for Coloradans which will save people time and money and reduce traffic and pollution, create two free years of free college for Colorado students, fund a new medical school and strengthen Colorado’s healthcare and veterinary workforce, move Colorado closer to becoming one of the ten safest states, save Coloradans money on property taxes with a bipartisan bill, and cut the income and sales taxes, which will put more money back into Coloradans’ pockets.

Governor Polis signed 519 bills into law across Colorado, the majority of which were bipartisan.
