The Governor discussed what is being done to support the state’s economy, including workers and businesses and called upon all Coloradans to wear cloth face coverings when they go out of the house for essential functions like grocery shopping.

DENVER - Gov. Polis released the following statement on the passing of El Paso County Sheriff’s Deputy Jeff Hopkins. Deputy Hopkins passed due complications related to COVID-19 on Wednesday. He is survived by his wife Wendy. He has served in the sheriff’s office since 2001.

DENVER - The COVID-19 Special Enrollment Period for individual health insurance will be extended to run through April 30, 2020. The original period that was announced on March 19 was set to end on Friday, April 3. The Colorado Division of Insurance (DOI), part of the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA), has worked with Connect for Health Colorado to add nearly a month more for Coloradans who are currently uninsured to get health coverage.

DENVER - Gov. Jared Polis discussed Colorado’s personal protective equipment (PPE) shortage at a news conference on Wednesday, April 1. On March 28, Governor Polis sent a letter to Vice President Mike Pence requesting additional PPE and ventilators to address the severe shortage Colorado is facing.

DENVER - Gov. Jared Polis today urged the Acting Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security requesting automatic extensions of work authorizations for all Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients whose grants expire in 2020.

DENVER - Gov. Jared Polis provided an update on Colorado’s response to COVID-19 as well as information on current cases in Colorado, including the number of cases, hospitalizations, and fatalities. DENVER - Gov. Polis signed an Executive Order temporarily suspending the personal appearance requirement before notarial officers to perform notarizations.
