DENVER — Today, Governor Polis appointed Rachel J. Olguin-Fresquez to fill a vacancy on the 5th Judicial District Court. The vacancy is created by the retirement of the Honorable Russell H. Granger and will be effective November 1, 2022. The Governor also appointed Jeremy L. Chaffin to fill a vacancy on the 21st Judicial District Court. The vacancy is created by the resignation of the Honorable Lance Timbreza and is effective immediately.
DENVER — Today, Governor Polis and the Colorado Tourism Office (CTO), within the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT), announced the seven recipients of the Tourism Recovery Marketing Grant funding. The recipients granted this funding come from all across the state. The goal of this grant program is to support the economic recovery of the travel and tourism industry and attract visitors to Colorado cities and towns that are still recovering from the pandemic. DENVER — Today, Governor Jared Polis appointed Michael P. Halpin to the Custer County Court in the 11th Judicial District. The vacancy was created by the appointment of the Honorable Amanda Hunter to the District Court and is effective November 9, 2022.
THORNTON — Today, Governor Polis joined the Colorado School Safety Resource Center within the Colorado Department of Public Safety at the annual Safe School Summit to discuss strategies to make schools safer. The summit brings together important voices such as community leaders, school officials, parents, law enforcement and mental health professionals to learn and develop innovative strategies for school safety. Governor Polis proclaimed October school safety month in Colorado.
FLOYD HILL - Today, Governor Polis, members of Colorado’s congressional delegation who represent the area, state legislators, local officials and the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) announced the groundbreaking of the I-70 Floyd Hill project — a main focus of the Polis administration's transformative ten-year infrastructure plan. The project will rebuild a seven-mile stretch of I-70 from exit 248 northwest of Evergreen to exit 241 in eastern Idaho Springs and work to eliminate a bottleneck on one of the most congested stretches of the I-70 Mountain Corridor. Early construction begins this Fall, beginning with projects such as a new wildlife crossing at Genesee and roundabouts along US 40 between Evergreen and Floyd Hill, with major construction on the corridor starting in spring 2023.
