Information About the Novel Coronavirus (COVID–19)
Caring for our patients in a safe and healthy environment is our greatest concern and top priority. We have implemented CDC-recommended steps to reduce the potential for the virus to spread in our hospitals and have reviewed protocols around patient treatment groups and use of masks and other personal protective equipment with public health officials. Other CDC-recommended steps we are taking to reduce the potential for the virus to spread in our hospitals include:
We know that this is a difficult time for our staff as well as our patients. Although Governor Polis has ordered non-critical workplaces to reduce their in-person staff by 50 percent, positions at the hospitals are critical to the continued operations of the facilities and therefore our staff must continue to work during this time if they are healthy and able. We very much appreciate our staff who are coming to work each day to provide outstanding care and are taking the precautions necessary to keep themselves and patients safe. We are regularly communicating with our staff about safety. In addition, some staff who do not regularly provide direct care services may be asked to back up critical personnel as people are on leave due to illness or otherwise. The entire staff of the Office of Behavioral Health is focused on ensuring that quality care continues during this time, and we are identifying how everyone can contribute to patient care with proper training and without compromising patient safety.
Colorado Emergency Child Care CollaborativeGovernor Polis has created a Colorado Emergency Child Care Collaborative during the COVID-19 outbreak. For those providing critical front-line response services, such as health professionals, health facilities staff, emergency responders, public safety, etc., the Collaborative would like to connect you to child care providers if your current provider is not able to continue service. To register, please fill out this survey or dial 2-1-1 for additional information.
