ABOUT THE COLORDAO RIVER BASIN
The Colorado Mainstem Basin encompasses approximately 9,830 square miles. The largest cities in the basin are Grand Junction (pop. 49,422) and Glenwood Springs (pop. 8,603). By 2050, the Colorado Basin could need between between 62,000 acre feet (AF) and 101,000 AF for new municipal and industrial (M&I) demands with passive conservation included.
All Coloradans are encouraged to participate in the basin roundtable process. Contact your basin roundtable for ways to get involved.
