2020 Registration has begun, all applications received prior to 12/31 and approved will be issed a new card on January 1st.

Fire Suppression Program Rules (8 CCR 1507-11)

All Fire Suppression System Contractors Registrations expire on 12/31 of the registration year.  Renewals will not be accepted earlier than 11/15 for the next registration year.
The fee for new or renewal registrations is $100.00/year for each contractor type.

Fire Suppression System Contractor

Individuals or companies performing work in accordance with Section 3.1 on Fire Suppression Systems in commercial, civil, or residential occupancies.

Fire Suppression System Contractor – Residential

Individuals or companies performing work in accordance with Section 3.1 on Fire Suppression Systems only in residential occupancies.

When registering as a Fire Suppression System Contractor or a Fire Suppression System Contractor - Residential you must name a RESPONSIBLE MANAGING EMPLOYEE (RME): - an individual or person engaged by a fire suppression contractor who is currently a professional engineer or certified by the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) at a level III or level IV or is a Registered Colorado Sprinkler Fitter (wet systems only).

Fire Suppression System Contractor – Backflow

Individuals or companies conducting installation, maintenance, service or testing of backflow prevention devices installed on fire sprinkler systems.
A Fire Suppression System Contractor-Backflow must employ a Qualified Employee that holds valid certification from the American Society of Sanitary Engineering (ASSE), the American Backflow Prevention Association (ABPA), or the Association of Boards of Certification (ABC)

Individuals or companies installing Underground Supply Lines from public water lines to system risers.

Payment

You will have the option to pay for your registration online* (check or credit card) or to mail in a check.  Registrations will not be issued unit payments have been made.

*The price to make a credit card payment to DFPC will be $0.75 plus 2.25% of the transaction amount. The flat fee for an ACH (electronic check) is $1.00. 

Since the transaction must be processed through the State’s official web portal, Colorado.gov, the payment is subject to portal pricing and under a contract administered under the authority of Colorado’s Statewide Internet Portal Authority as designated in statue CRS 24.37.7-101
