    Governor Polis, AEG, Community Foundation Boulder County Announce Benefit Concert to Provide Relief for Marshall Fire Disaster Survivors

    DENVER — Today, Governor Jared Polis joined AEG Presents chairman emeritus Chuck Morris, Community Foundation Boulder County CEO Tatiana Hernandez, and Nathaniel Rateliff of Colorado-based band The Night Sweats to announce the Boulder Fire Recovery Benefit Concert to support disaster survivors of the Marshall Fire. The pre-recorded concert will go live online for virtual audiences on Monday, February 28, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. MT with performances from more than a dozen Colorado-based artists and popular national musical acts.

    Gov. Polis Applauds Federal Wildfire Recovery Funding to Support Recovery from Record 2020 Wildfire Season

    DENVER - Today, Governor Jared Polis applauded an announcement from the Biden administration that Colorado will receive roughly $79 million from the U.S. Forest Service to help Routt, White River, and Arapaho & Roosevelt national forests recover from the devastating 2020 wildfires. After consecutive devastating wildfire seasons that include late December’s Marshall Fire, recorded as the most destructive fire in Colorado’s history, this portion of the funding will be used predominantly for work on forest service land for flood prevention and to rehabilitate Colorado’s fire-impacted public lands through efforts like re-seeding and watershed protection efforts.

    AmeriCorps Operational Grants Available from Serve Colorado

    DENVER — Serve Colorado is now accepting applications for 2022-2023 AmeriCorps State operational grant funding for community partnerships to engage AmeriCorps members to meet state and local needs. Operational grants provide funding to nonprofit organizations, state and local agencies, or federally recognized Tribes who are ready to implement a full AmeriCorps program, with members on the ground as early as August 2022.

    Polis Administration Seeks Development Partner for New “Glo Park”

    DENVER - The Polis administration is seeking a development partner to bring to life the new Global Energy Business Park or “Glo Park” in Jefferson County. This Fall, the Capitol Development Committee unanimously approved a land swap that will allow for a Global Energy Park located west of Denver between Lakewood and Golden in Jefferson County.

    Governor Polis Signs First Bill of the 2022 Legislative Session to Provide Real Relief for Small Businesses

    DENVER - Today, Governor Polis signed the first bill of the legislative session into law. The bipartisan HB22-1027 Sales Tax Destination Sourcing Rules Exception provides relief and reduces paperwork for small businesses by extending the deadline for Colorado small businesses to comply with the Sales and Use Tax system for purposes of destination sourcing from February 1, 2022 to October 1, 2022.
