    Governor Polis Provides Update on State’s Response to COVID-19

    DENVER - Governor Polis, Denver Mayor Michael Hancock and public health and safety officials provided an update to the state’s response to COVID-19 (coronavirus) this morning. The Governor issued guidance around large gatherings as well as nursing facilities. He also urged Coloradans to keep perspective in these challenging times and do their part in stopping the spread of COVID-19.

    Drive-up Testing Lab Will be Postponed to Tomorrow Due to Weather-Related Safety Concerns People Who Need COVID-19 Tests Can Obtain Them Through Private Providers

    DENVER, March 13, 2020: Due to weather-related concerns, CDPHE will postpone the drive-up testing site in Lowry to tomorrow, Saturday, March 14, weather permitting. Current weather conditions put both people being tested and laboratory staff at risk. Cold temperatures can reduce the effectiveness of personal protective equipment (PPE) that protect testing staff from being exposed to the virus and passing it on to others.

    CDPHE confirms 23 additional new presumptive positive cases in Colorado

    DENVER, March 13, 2020: The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) confirmed 23 new presumptive positive cases in Colorado, based on overnight test results. Some of these results are from the drive-through testing center. That brings the total number of presumptive positive cases to date to 72. The state lab has completed test results on approximately 600 people in Colorado since testing started on February 28.

    CDPHE confirms 4 additional new presumptive positive cases in Colorado

    DENVER, March 12, 2020: The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) confirmed 4 new presumptive positive cases in Colorado, based on afternoon test results. All the cases were in Eagle County. CDPHE announced 11 presumptive positive cases earlier today. That brings the total number of presumptive positive cases to date to 49, which includes one indeterminate case that public health is treating as a presumptive positive. The state lab has completed test results on more than 400 people in Colorado since testing started on February 28.

    CDPHE drive-up lab experiencing high volume Line will be closed today; those in line already will have priority for tomorrow

    DENVER, March 12, 2020: Due to an extremely high volume of people seeking COVID-19 tests at the drive-up testing site in Lowry, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) is working to establish and communicate a cut-off point for the line. CDPHE is currently determining, based on resources and staff capacity, which vehicle will be the last vehicle whose occupants can be served today. Those who are already in line behind that cut off-point will receive a note that allows them priority for testing in line tomorrow.

    CDPHE confirms 11 additional new presumptive positive cases in Colorado

    DENVER, March 12, 2020: The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) confirmed 11 new presumptive positive cases in Colorado, based on test results overnight. That brings the total number of presumptive positive cases to 44, with one indeterminate case that public health is acting on as a presumptive positive. The state lab has completed test results on approximately 350 people in Colorado since testing started on February 28.

    Update on State’s Response to COVID-19

    DENVER - On Tuesday, Gov. Polis declared a state of emergency in response to the presence of coronavirus disease 2019 in Colorado (COVID-19). The declaration will help ensure resources are available to the State to combat COVID-19. The Governor has urged Coloradans to exercise personal responsibility to protect public health, especially vulnerable populations like older Coloradans and those with underlying health conditions.
