DENVER - Governor Jared Polis released the following statement after Vail Resorts announced they would be suspending operations at their resorts beginning March 15 until March 22 in response to COVID-19 (coronavirus). 

DENVER, March 14, 2020: El Paso County Public Health (EPCPH) has learned that the woman who died from COVID-19 on March 13 attended bridge games at Colorado Springs Bridge Center from Feb. 27 through March 3. EPCPH and the Colorado Department of Public Health (CDPHE) are releasing this information in the interest of public health. EPCPH will have media availability at 3 p.m. at the Pikes Peak Regional Office of Emergency Management, 3755 Mark Dabling Blvd.

DENVER, March 14, 2020: The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) confirmed 24 new presumptive positive cases in Colorado, based on overnight test results. That brings the total number of presumptive positive cases to date to 101. 

Denver (March 13, 2020): Per direction from Governor Polis, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) is restricting all visitors at skilled nursing, assisted living, and intermediate care facilities to protect the health of the residents and health care workers at those facilities. These facilities provide care to older Coloradans with underlying health conditions. 

DENVER, March 13, 2020: The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) confirmed five new presumptive positive cases in Colorado, based on today’s test results. That brings the total number of presumptive positive cases to date to 77. The state lab has completed test results on more than 600 people in Colorado since testing started on February 28.

DENVER - Governor Polis, Denver Mayor Michael Hancock and public health and safety officials provided an update to the state’s response to COVID-19 (coronavirus) this morning. The Governor issued guidance around large gatherings as well as nursing facilities. He also urged Coloradans to keep perspective in these challenging times and do their part in stopping the spread of COVID-19.

DENVER, March 13, 2020: Colorado today reported the first death from COVID-19. The death occurred in a female in her 80s with underlying health conditions residing in El Paso County.

DENVER, March 13, 2020: Due to weather-related concerns, CDPHE will postpone the drive-up testing site in Lowry to tomorrow, Saturday, March 14, weather permitting. Current weather conditions put both people being tested and laboratory staff at risk. Cold temperatures can reduce the effectiveness of personal protective equipment (PPE) that protect testing staff from being exposed to the virus and passing it on to others.

DENVER, March 13, 2020: The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) confirmed 23 new presumptive positive cases in Colorado, based on overnight test results. Some of these results are from the drive-through testing center. That brings the total number of presumptive positive cases to date to 72. The state lab has completed test results on approximately 600 people in Colorado since testing started on February 28.
