    Gov. Polis Holds Quantum Summit

    DENVER - Today, at The Mountain West Elevate Quantum Summit, Governor Polis, Eve Lieberman, Executive Director of the Office of Economic Development and International Trade, and partners announced new bipartisan legislation to maximize Colorado’s competitiveness as a tech hub and strengthen the state’s economy. The bill will help save money for quantum business in Colorado, and position the state to compete for up to $70 million in federal funding and accelerate the development of the industry while creating 10,000 new, good-paying jobs for Coloradans.

    Governor Polis, Senators Bennet & Hickenlooper & CDOT Director Lew Celebrate More than $88 Million in Federal Transportation Grants for Colorado Projects

    Governor Polis Congratulates Todd Helton on Being Elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame

    DENVER - Today, Governor Polis congratulated Colorado Rockies First Baseman Legend Todd Helton on being elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Todd Helton was elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame alongside Adrián Beltré and Joe Mauer. Todd retired after the 2013 season with 2,519 hits, 369 home runs, and a career batting average of .316.

    Governor Polis and CDOT Celebrate $8.3 Million to Support EV Charging Infrastructure Across the State

    DENVER - Today, Governor Polis and the Colorado Department of Transportation praised the Biden Administration for awarding Colorado an $8.3 million grant that will support maintenance for up to 363 electric vehicle charger ports in as many as 197 locations statewide. This funding is in addition to over $60M recently-announced state and federal investments in public EV charging, not including investments by private industry and Colorado utilities, in accessible, reliable, affordable EV-fueling. Colorado's 2023 EV Plan seeks to increase the number of charging ports installed to over 7500 by 2030.

    Governor Polis Calls on IRS to Allow Coloradans to Keep More of Their Hard-Earned Money, Joins Fellow Governors in Urging IRS to Provide Clarity on FAMLI Benefits

    DENVER - Today, in a letter to IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel, Governor Polis, joined fellow governors in urging the commissioner to provide guidance on the taxability of Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) benefits, and also encouraged the IRS to prevent double taxation. The Governor was joined by Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont, Maryland Governor Wes Moore, Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, New York Governor Kathy Hochul, Oregon Governor Tina Kotek, and Washington Governor Jay Inslee.

    Governor Polis and the Colorado Department of Higher Education Celebrate First Graduates of CORE Initiative

    DENVER – Today, Governor Polis and The Colorado Department of Higher Education celebrated the first 300 graduates who received diplomas through the Colorado Re-Engaged (CORE) Initiative on December 5, 2023. Created on June 29, 2021, when Governor Polis signed bipartisan House Bill 21-1330, High Education Student Success, sponsored by Representatives Julie McCluskie, and Naquetta Ricks, and Senators Rachel Zenzinger and Barbara Kirkmeyer, CORE enables four-year higher education institutions in Colorado to award associate degrees to students who stepped away before earning a bachelor’s degree after earning at least 70 credit hours.

    GREELEY – Governor Polis and the Global Business Development Division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) announced today that Toro, a leading worldwide provider of innovative solutions for the outdoor environment, has selected the Town of Frederick in Weld County, Colorado for relocation. In Frederick, the company is opening a new center of excellence for the research and development functions of their robotics division.
