    DENVER — Today, Colorado Governor Jared Polis joined Senator Chris Hansen, Senator Bob Rankin, Majority Leader Daneya Esgar, and community leaders to announce another major money saving measure: bipartisan property tax relief to save Colorado homeowners and businesses money. Colorado currently has among the lowest residential property tax rates in the country, and today’s announcement builds upon the Polis Administration’s work since day one to provide property tax relief to Coloradans and put money back in the pockets of hardworking Coloradans.

    Lt. Governor Primavera Signs First Bill Into Law As Acting Governor to Support Coloradans in Crisis

    DENVER — Today, Lieutenant Governor Dianne Primavera joined bill sponsors, State Behavioral Health Commissioner Dr. Morgan Medlock, and mental health advocates to sign legislation supporting Coloradans in crisis by requiring crisis system facilities to meet minimum standards, increasing access to lifesaving mental health and substance use disorder crisis services including for youth and people with co-occurring disabilities.

    Gov. Polis Statement on Xcel’s Next Step Toward Renewable Energy

    DENVER - Today, Governor Polis and administration officials applauded Xcel Energy-Colorado’s plan to ramp up the company’s use of renewable energy and end all coal use by the end of the decade. Aligning closely with the Polis Administration’s bold climate and renewable energy goals, the proposed plan would provide over 80% of energy from renewable resources and reduce pollution beyond state targets by 2030.

    Saving People Money & Moving Colorado Forward: Governor Polis Signs Free Universal Preschool Into Law

    DENVER — Today, Governor Jared Polis joined state officials, bill sponsors, and parents and students to sign legislation creating the voter-approved universal preschool program in Colorado, and implementing the new, unified Department of Early Childhood, helping Colorado families save on average up to $4,300 every year. Last year, the legislature and Polis administration finalized plans for the Early Childhood Department to streamline the early childhood system, prepare our students for success, build a highly-skilled early childcare and education workforce, and give families economic freedom.

    Governor Polis Signs Bills Into Law

    COLORADO SPRINGS — Today, Governor Jared Polis signed two bills into law, including legislation to change the name of Pikes Peak Community College to Pikes Peak State College and a bill providing Colorado drivers the option to use digital license plates with a visible registration number and expiration date in place of metal plates.
