    Governor Polis Announces Mask Distribution to Catholic, Private & Charter Schools

    DENVER - Governor Jared Polis announced today that in addition to providing medical-grade masks to public school teachers this Fall, the State will also provide masks for private school teachers across the state. The State announced a specific partnership with the Colorado Archdioceses of Denver to provide 2,000 masks per week to their 48 schools. Private schools and charter schools will be asked to pick up their supply of masks in the district headquarters or designated depot in which they are located.

    Reinsurance Keeps Premiums Down for 2021

    DENVER - The Colorado Division of Insurance (DOI), part of the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA), has released the preliminary premium information for individual (not from an employer) and small group health plans for 2021. Earlier this month, the DOI released preliminary information on the number of companies and plans for 2021. These submitted filings are now available for public comment through Aug. 26.

    Governor Polis Calls on Congressional Delegation To Provide State & Local Funding & Relief to Coloradans in New Federal Stimulus Bill

    DENVER - Governor Jared Polis today urged members of Colorado’s Congressional Delegation to ensure funding is provided to state and local governments in the new federal stimulus package Congress is considering. In the letter, Gov. Polis outlines requests for state and local aid, new investments in Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC), the RESTART Act, additional support for expanding testing and contact tracing, funding for educational challenges, and housing assistance.

    Governor Polis, Forest Service Celebrate U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree from Colorado

    Delta, CO – Governor Jared Polis with USDA Forest Service Acting Regional Forester for the Rocky Mountain Region, Jennifer Eberlien, Director of Communications and Sponsorship, Jodi Massey and Director Cathy Ritter from the Colorado Tourism Office, announced the kick-off of the 2020 Capitol Christmas Tree project. Governor Polis and special guests encouraged Coloradans to “Experience Your Nature”, the theme of this year’s tree, and get involved with making an ornament for the tree.

    Governor Polis Signs Executive Order For Elephant Butte Fire

    DENVER - Gov. Jared Polis today signed Executive Order D 2020 143, memorializing his declaration of a state of disaster emergency on July 13, 2020, due to the Elephant Butte Fire in Jefferson County and allowing for resources and support to be dedicated to the fire. As of July 18, 2020, the fire is 100% contained.
