    Lt. Governor Primavera Attends White House Event on Lowering Health Care Costs

    WASHINGTON D.C. – This morning, Lt. Governor Dianne Primavera, head of the Office of Saving People Money on Health Care  Colorado was pleased to join President Biden and Vice President Harris in the East Room of the White House for the announcement of a new effort to lower the cost of prescription drugs and health care costs for seniors. President Biden delivered remarks on his Administration’s efforts to lower health care costs for millions of American families. The Polis-Primavera administration is committed to saving people money on health care. While in Washington D.C., Lt. Governor Primavera also met with other Biden administration officials to discuss Polis-Primavera healthcare priorities.

    Serve Colorado Announces Fall Grant Competition for AmeriCorps Programs

    DENVER —  Serve Colorado, located within the Office of the Lieutenant Governor and which administers Colorado’s AmeriCorps State program, is now accepting applications from nonprofit organizations, institutions of higher education, and state and local agencies who are interested in placing AmeriCorps members in Colorado. AmeriCorps grants help expand services and reach underserved communities through the power of community service. Concept papers for new AmeriCorps programs are due to Serve Colorado on September 22, 2023 at 5:00 PM MT. There will be a Request for Applications (RFA) Orientation Webinar on August 30, 2023 from 10:00 AM MT - 11:00 AM MT. Participants are asked to pre-register online.     Polis Administration, Colorado Department of Public Safety Announces Office of School Safety

    LAKEWOOD -  The Office of School Safety (OSS), created through bipartisan legislation and signed by Governor Polis, officially took effect on July 1, 2023 within the Department of Public Safety. Christine Harms was appointed director of the new office on July 15.  The Office of School Safety provides key resources, grants, and crisis response to support schools with preparedness and to ensure that students can learn and teachers can teach in safe environments.

    Creating More Housing Options: Polis Administration Announces Latest IHIP Grant Recipients and Launch of Innovative Housing Manufacturing Loan Program

    DENVER – Today, Governor Polis and the Business Funding & Incentives Division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) announced three recipients of the Innovative Housing Incentive program (IHIP) grant and the launch of the loan component of the IHIP program. This round of grant funding will directly incentivize the creation of 490 affordable and attainable housing units across Colorado.

    Gov. Polis Announces Boards and Commissions Appointments

    Arkansas River Compact Administration

    The Arkansas River Compact Administration was created to administer the provisions of the compact which was created with respect to the waters of the Arkansas River.  The administration shall cooperate with each state charged with the administration of water rights and with federal agencies in the systematic determination and correlation of the facts as to the flow and diversion of the waters of the Arkansas River.

    Under Polis Administration CDOT Working to Complete High Country Road Repairs Before Winter  

    BERTHOUD PASS  - As part of the Polis administration’s ongoing plans to fix Colorado’s roads, Colorado Department of Transportation has teams of contracted and in-house maintenance crews repairing and repaving the state’s most damaged roads, including sections of the Interstate 70 mountain corridor and Berthoud Pass. Both areas took a significant weather related drubbings  from last winter’s severe weather impacts across Colorado. Earlier this year, CDOT requested and received $25 million of additional funding from the Colorado Transportation Commission to address critical pavement conditions across the state. This additional funding allowed this critical work to be done without canceling any construction projects that had already been planned for 2023.

    DENVER - Today, Governor Polis and Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) announced the 2023 funding recipients of the Human-Bear Conflict Reduction Community Grant. This grant program provides funding for local communities, municipalities, businesses and nonprofit organizations working to create innovative ways to reduce human-bear conflict and keep communities safe.
