DENVER - Today, the State of Colorado released three previously retired license plate backgrounds with proceeds from their sale benefiting the Colorado Disability Funding Committee, providing grants for disability application assistance and innovative programs that increase the quality of life and independence of Coloradans with disabilities. These license plates can be purchased for use from county motor vehicle offices state-wide or online for a $25 annual fee.
DENVER — Governor Polis issued an Executive Order memorializing the December 20, 2022 verbal order declaring a disaster emergency due to extreme winter weather throughout the State of Colorado, deploying the National Guard to respond to and support the extreme winter weather response, and activating the State Emergency Operations Plan authorizing all State departments and agencies to take action necessary and requested by the Director of the Office of Emergency Management.
DENVER – The Innovative Housing Incentive Program (IHIP), announced today by Governor Polis and the Business Funding & Incentives Division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT), introduces new funding opportunities to support the development and expansion of Colorado’s innovative housing manufacturing businesses. Based on the understanding that strong economic development includes job creation and the development of attainable housing, IHIP will foster both across Colorado.
GOLDEN - Today, the Polis administration and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) announced the next stage in bringing to life a nation-leading, innovative Global Energy Park (Glo Park) in Golden, Colorado. With the completion of land swaps between the Department of Energy, the State of Colorado, and Jefferson County, the Glo Park has garnered attention from international companies spearheading energy transition. The campus will be located within walking distance of NREL in the heart of Colorado’s internationally recognized energy research and innovation ecosystem, further cementing Colorado’s role at the nexus of renewable energy innovation and collaboration.

DENVER – Today, the Polis administration announced the next step in implementing the Universal Preschool (UPK) Colorado program, with enrollment opening on January 17th for families to register their kids for preschool this fall. Colorado’s Universal Preschool provider registration is off to a strong start with more than 29,000 seats available across the state. Over 850 providers have signed up to participate in the state-funded high-quality, voluntary mixed delivery preschool program available to every Colorado child in the year before they are eligible to enter kindergarten.

Agilent is a global leader in life science research, patient diagnostics and testing that ensures the safety of water, food and pharmaceuticals. By expanding in Colorado, the company will help advance a bioscience and life sciences sector that is among the best in the nation.
DENVER — Governor Polis issued an Executive Order amending and extending the current COVID-19 disaster declaration. The disaster declaration allows agencies to continue to access state and federal funding for recovery efforts, to rapidly respond to changes in the public health environment, and to support the healthcare system to remain appropriately staffed and prepared to respond to public health. The disaster declaration refocuses the State’s efforts on COVID-19 recovery and ends the disaster declaration for Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), influenza, and other respiratory illnesses.
