    Applications double during second Colorado Free Application Day

    DENVER —Colorado students submitted nearly 44,500 college and university admissions applications during the second Colorado Free Application Day on Oct. 15, 2019, doubling participation from last year’s effort and saving almost $2 million in waived fees.

    Gov. Polis Signs Greening Government Executive Order

    DENVER - Gov. Polis today signed an executive order focused on the state’s commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and making government operations more energy efficient and sustainable. This executive order builds on the State’s prior greening government efforts, and establishes new goals and directives for all state agencies and departments that will save taxpayer money and reduce the impact of State operations on the environment and public health. The Governor was joined by First Gentleman Marlon Reis, Kara Veitch, Executive Director of the Dept. of Personnel & Administration, Shoshanna Lew, Executive Director of the Dept. of Transportation, Rep. Lisa Cutter, (D-Evergreen), and members of the Greening Government Leadership Council.

    Office of Saving People Money on Health Care, HCPF Release New Report on Reducing Prescription Drug Costs in Colorado

    DENVER – Today, the Department of Health Care Policy & Financing released a comprehensive report outlining the primary drivers of prescription drug costs in Colorado. Prescription drug costs are the fastest-growing consumer health care expense. The burden of high prescription drug costs is such that people are foregoing their medications because they can’t afford them. Left uninterrupted, the prescription drug cost trends will continue on an unsustainable, upward trajectory.

    Gov. Polis & CDHS Launch SEE ME Campaign to Battle Stigma of Behavioral Health Conditions

    DENVER- Gov. Jared Polis joined Michelle Barnes, executive director at the Department of Human Services, to launch the new SEE ME campaign, to address the stigma associated with getting mental health or substance use disorder support. The campaign is designed to complement the work of the Colorado Behavioral Health Task Force (BHTF) and provide an opportunity for all Coloradans to take action in support of behavioral health system reform.
