    June forecast shows continued growth for Colorado economy

    DENVER — The Office of State Planning and Budgeting (OSPB) today released the June forecast showing stronger than expected revenue growth. Strong wage growth is driving continued consumer spending, sustaining our economic expansion. However, trade conflicts pose a risk to Colorado’s economy, as recently proposed escalations could result in higher prices for domestic consumers and fewer export markets for farmers and manufacturers.

    Governor Polis Signs Executive Order to Increase Vaccination Rates in Colorado

    DENVER — Governor Jared Polis today signed an executive order to increase vaccination rates in Colorado. The Governor was joined by a bipartisan group of legislators and public health officials today as he signed the executive order at Colorado Children’s Hospital Uptown in Denver. 

    “What we’re proposing is a third way - expanding education and access to vaccines - which will lead to more kids being vaccinated while respecting the right of parents to make their own health care decisions,” said Governor Polis.

    Gov. Polis appoints interim District Attorney for 14th Judicial District

    DENVER — Gov. Jared Polis today announced the appointment of Matthew J. Karzen for the 14th Judicial district effective July 1, 2019. His appointment is occasioned by the resignation of Brett D. Barley, effective July 1, 2019.  

    Karzen most recently served as Chief Deputy/Assistant District Attorney for the 14th Judicial District. He is a graduate of Colorado College and the University of Denver, College of Law.

    Gov. Polis Statement on Notice of Reinsurance Waiver for Colorado

    DENVER — On Wednesday, June 5, the Division of Insurance, part of the Department of Regulatory Agencies, received notice from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services that Colorado’s application for a 1332 waiver to establish a reinsurance program has undergone a preliminary review and was determined to be complete.
