DENVER - Today, the Governor appointed Melissa C. Meirink to the Colorado Court of Appeals. This vacancy is created by the Honorable Anthony J. Navarro not standing for retention, and the appointment is effective January 14, 2025.
COMMERCE CITY – Today, Governor Polis, U.S. Senator John Hickenlooper, U.S. Representative Yadira Caraveo, Department of Energy Assistant Secretary for the Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management Brad Crabtree and US Environmental Protection Agency Regional Director KC Becker, announced a $12.6 million federal grant for the Colorado Energy and Carbon Management Commission (ECMC) to support methane emissions reduction through voluntary plugging of oil and gas wells across Colorado on non-federal lands.
DENVER - Today, pursuant to her authority as acting Governor under the Colorado Constitution, Article IV, § 13, the Lieutenant Governor appointed Dayna L. Vise to the 11th Judicial District Court. The vacancy is created by the retirement of the Honorable Lynette M. Wenner, and the appointment is effective October 1, 2024.
DENVER - Today, Governor Polis and Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) announced the 2024 funding recipients of the Human-Bear Conflict Reduction Community Grant, which will distribute $995,590 to 15 efforts around the state. These grants provide funding for local communities, municipalities, businesses and nonprofit organizations working to create innovative ways to reduce human-bear conflict and keep communities and wildlife safe.
RANGELY- Today, Governor Polis and the Office of Economic Development & International Trade (OEDIT) announced two Coal Transition Community grants to fund projects that will diversify local economies in western Colorado, including the Town of Rangely and the communities of Natarita and Nucla in the West End of Montrose County and Norwood in San Miguel County. These grants will support economic and business development activities to create and retain rural jobs.
DENVER - Today, Governor Polis, Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) and Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) announced grant recipients for the Outdoor Regional Partnerships Initiative establishing two new partnerships in southwestern and southeastern Colorado. There are now 20 Outdoor Regional Partnerships covering about 75% of the state. First launched in 2021, the Initiative funds regional coalitions that bring broad interests together to ensure that Colorado’s lands, waters, and wildlife thrive while also providing for equitable and quality outdoor recreation experiences.
PUEBLO — Today, Governor Polis, the Colorado Department of Agriculture and the Colorado State Fair announced the seven food trucks from across Colorado that have been selected to compete in the 2024 Governor’s Plate competition at the Colorado State Fair. The event takes place at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at the State Fairgrounds in Pueblo.
